Just Like Old Times

Many moons ago when we lived in Northolt and Jo was a full time curate I used to actually try to do my job while looking after baby twins. Of course that's a completely ridiculous thing to attempt - and I have no idea how I managed. But manage I did.
I suppose it was more amazing I managed to keep my job when first widowed and looking after the twins on my own - but I think at that point I was running on whatever passes for adrenaline among the grief stricken.
But I digress.
I used to sit at this very table using this very laptop, at our place in Northolt, trying to keep my company's website updated all the while twin babies were causing chaos around me. Madness, complete madness.
...
Well this morning Jo is at work and I'm having something of a flashback. The main difference now is there are three children rather than two. And the youngest one is obsessed with computers - so it's taken quite an effort to keep his 16-month-old fingers off this keyboard to write this post.
The twins are three and a half now and scarily grown up. I'm constantly amazed by the things they say and the complexity in their conversation. Thankfully they are actually a help now, playing and keeping baby Will occupied while I do a little work here at the laptop and of course write this nonsense.
Will is beginning to say his first words. His most use word is "look" often accompanied with him pointing at whatever he wants you to look at. He also says "Mamma", "Dadda" and "Kitty". When doing his wooden shape sorter toy he will say "There" or "Did it" when he gets a shape in. All of it is ridiculously adorable and more often than that said with a great big smile. We're lucky to have such a cheery little boy.
So here on this Sunday morning it's like old times - I'm sat at a computer while children play. But it's very different too. The sun is shining, I can see trees and open spaces out of the window, and three happy children seem to keeping themselves busy with a box of toy cars.
