The End of an Era

Crikey it's been a huge day of changes here on the site. As you may have noticed the site is now harryneary.com not cartmel-bar.co.uk.

Why the change?

Well the old name has been less relevant for some time now. When originally set up this site was the home of our university reunion stories and mostly a place for uni friends to converse.

This is no longer the case.

...

And as wifey keeps telling me, there's no sense on hanging onto the past from over ten years ago.

So here we are, instead of hanging onto the past there's an entirely new egocentric name to the site.

Hopefully everything works just as before. But if you find any problems please do let me know.

Also we need a new name for the blog. At the moment it's still The Cartmel Bar Blog. But clearly that has to change to match the new domain. Harry's Blog sounds a bit dull really, so do you have any alternative suggestions?

No point in hanging onto the past?

    Eh?

That means we'll have to accept the current and plan for the future.

First the real Cartmel Bar disappears, then the virtual one follows suit.

I don't want to grow up - please don't make me!

Don't worry I'll make it up to you after Easter.

I'll buy you a few pints in your local.

    We're moving to Dorset.

Just a minute - has this been sanctioned by the Dorset elders? The town cryer usually announces stuff like this, and handwritten notices are posted on trees inviting us to make representations before any outsiders are allowed in. I've not been consulted.

Ooooh - It's all becoming clear now - you're like a Russian bride, enbracing wedlock in order to get a visa to a sunnier location!

Can't wait to see what happens to your accent now! We'll soon get you talking proper.

So welcome to Dorset ("The home of the 2012 sailing events"). I'm sure we'll get used to you...

Let me know where/when, etc - obviously not here - I know the authorities are still monitoring this site for clues as to your whereabouts...
