Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more?
Now in a related story to the one below, my wife K has just renewed her passport as we're off to France at the end of September and we haven't left these shores since we got married (hence her passport is in her maiden name). The form you now have to complete is so draconian that any ink outside of the boxes invalidates the whole form (bit like colouring in when you were at pre-school).
It cost her over £50 to renew her passport and get the Post Office to check it (£7). She was also told that her photos would probably be rejected as she was too close to the camera (you couldn?t see the whole of her left shoulder), despite using a photo booth at the Railway Station that said that it produced passport photos. K was told that she shouldn?t be using the photo booths that took your money before your picture was taken (what other photo booths are there?) and should instead have used Klicks in the town. K then spotted a photo booth in the Post Office and suggested that surely that one was alright, but no the woman behind the counter said it was safer not to use them, as the Passport Office were getting really strict with applications.
We therefore wait with baited breath to see if her photos come back!

It seems mad that a post office has a photo booth - which most people would assume is there for passport and other photo ID needs - yet the Post Office doesn't recommend using.

That's nothing... when I went to get my passport from the London Passport Offices, their Photo-Booth wasn't working...
Doh!
