The Flu

I’ve got it. No not the avian one, I’m still alive, I’m not posting from the River Styx or the Halls of Asgard or anything. I’ve got the regular flu and it’s not much fun.

Of course most blokes say they’ve got the flu when in fact they are just suffering from a cold. I know I’ve got the flu because my fiancée told me so, as she had it a couple of weeks ago and as we all know, women don’t fib about such things.

Anyway it feels completely different to having a cold. I’m a little sniffley and have a dry throat, but I’ve certainly not got the full-on cold symptoms. Instead I feel like I’m moving through a world of syrup. Everything aches, especially my knees and elbows. Moving is tough and I feel completely exhausted even though I’ve only been awake two hours and had plenty of sleep last night.

Thankfully I don’t have far to go to work as I work from home. But that isn’t really making work any easier. I feel like I’m moving in slow motion, even my thoughts and it’s taking ages to complete the simplest of tasks.

This week L and I celebrated our first year together and in a few days time it’s L’s birthday. Plenty of cause for celebration there. Alas I feel that with both of us under the weather, proper celebrations may have to be postponed until we are in much ruder health.

I feel for ya H... I'm suffering too sadly. I can't even afford to have any time off work to recover after having most of last week off to move house :(

Well congrats on getting the new place anyway. I've finally got the last of my stuff from dad's (mostly books) over the weekend - hence our ten hours in a van on Saturday.
