Who's counting?

Well we are, the we being my girlfriend L and I. The bank holiday weekend saw us celebrating our third month together. And what a wonderful three months it has been.

It's odd though - it feels so much longer than that. Over the weekend we talked about those early days as though they were years ago, lost in another time. Certainly the days of us travelling back and forth on National Express coaches each weekend seems long gone in the dim and distant past.

Here we are one month after becoming flatmates and it just seems the norm, that this is the way things have always been. We've still a lot to learn, we had a bit of a disagreement over the weekend, but on the whole we're rubbish at arguing and it ends up being some kind of cute race afterwards to see who can apologise the most or make up first.

It's been a glorious three months though, and we've packed a lot into that time. We seemed to bypass dating altogether and became a very close couple almost immediately. For the doubters out there, love at first site really does exist. That's what we found when we met each other, by the time we'd made a quick bus ride from meeting at Victoria Station to arriving in North Finchley we were already a couple.

I suppose a few people must think we're stark staring mad. After all, here we are as flatmates after meeting three months ago. And regular readers will already know we've set a date for our wedding and are planning all the minutiae of what food we want at the service (Roast beef and Yorkshire puds seems favourite at the moment folks, if you're wondering). However every relationship is different, there are no hard and fast rules, and L and I aren't two kids getting ahead of ourselves here.

Like I said, this has been the best three months of my life and the happiest. L is the most amazingly kind, caring, funny, intelligent, cute and gorgeous girl I've ever met and if the future is even half as good as the time we've spent since the end of February, then I'm in for a truly happy life.
